Sources on Warseer who are normally reliable have said that Fantasy 8th edition is coming next year. Apparently big red rulebook will be out in June after
the Beastman army book. Boxed set will be in September and will be Empire and Orcs, featuring new boar boyz and knights. New Orc book in Q1 2011.
Supposedly some form of scenarios and objectives will be coming back into normal play.

I'm kind of indifferent to this really. I don't have a lot of problems with the rule book as it stands. Mainly I can't decide if I want to see
scenarios overtake just killing shit. I really like that about fantasy, but that could be because I don't get to play the system all that often so I
really don't need more variety.

Generally I agree with you. 7th is a really tight rules set and most the problems I have with WFB is due to the inconsistency of the army books rather than
flaws in the system.
My wish/fear list: - Scenarios and Objectives can be tricky due to block movement. If they're not careful they could further depower blocks if objectives are too hard to get to. - I'd love them to do something with the terrain rules. As they stand now terrain is effectively impassible except for those with special rules. I'd like to see that go away. - Clean up the Monster & Handler rules right now they get a paragraph that in no way covers the eventualities that arise from them. - Slide or Not, they really just need to decide if WFB allows sliding or disallows it and stop with the, "well, maybe, if you think, please like us" BS. - Psychology, I'd like to see Fear and Terror just add an additional modifier to break tests rather than cause autobreak. Right now there are too many Fear and Terror causers and it devalues high Ld a great deal. - Bring back lap around or something that allows you to shift your formation to increase your fighting strength in successive rounds of combat. - Please don't fuck up magic. It's not perfect now but doesn't suck. It could suck if they're not careful. - Dare I dream of flexible movement rules for infantry blocks. Right now they're rigid to an absurd degree. I would weep tears of joy for free turns and diagonal movement. I imagine there's other stuff. Not much of it is huge but refinements are always nice. Really, I just want them to redo the demon book and make it not be stupid.

Let stuff move their movement in inches however they want. Let everyone in a block fight. Let units have 360 firing arcs and line of sight. Oh yeah and put
everything on round bases.

ewww I am not really happy about this. I will not buy the 50 dollar book. So I will have to wait until Q1 2011 to get the set and then have to pawn off the
orcs on someone. I am happy it is Empire in the box though and this firmly makes up my mind to not buy knights until then. It really kinda makes me mad that
they delay the box sets. Back in the old days that is the only way you could get the books and frankly I liked it better.

boooo to scenarios... fucking ruined 40k as far as I am concerned. I just want to sit down play the other guy and see who is better at killing shit.

I am most worried about magic as well. I really like the magic system for the most part... it's fun... it's risky... and sometimes it can kill a cubic
fuck-ton of stuff. However, I am not extremely happy with the BRB magic lores. I think they lose out in many ways to all of the race specific lores that
exist out there. So I am hoping they make them a little more interesting and weed out/improve some of the spells/lores that just aren't worth using on a
regular basis.
